Missionaries to Kenya, Africa

Dear Prayer Partners,

It has been a wonderful summer for our MANNA feeding center and the Injili Baptist Church. God blessed and we had six teams from the United States that visited and ministered to our children. Our first group was from Baptist Bible College in Springfield, Missouri. We were so happy when several of them decided that God was calling them back to Africa upon graduation.

We were able to dedicate the feeding center building on June 17, 2006. Pastor Greg Cooper of Gospel Baptist Church in Cincinnati, Ohio came to be our special speaker. His church is the main sponsor of this MANNA center and brought many great gifts for the children. When they returned home to the states, they promised to help raise funds to build a school for our area. I am so pleased to let you know that God blessed and $20,000 was donated. We started construction today on the foundation and hope to have the children in their own school in two months. Pray that God will give us the energy and good weather to complete this project.

There were several other churches that came including Palmetto Avenue Baptist (Sanford, FL), Berachah Baptist (Middletown, OH), Abundant Life Baptist (Kansas City, MO. ), and Willow Creek Baptist (Des Moines, IA). We appreciate all the wonderful ways that they ministered to our children. They also presented gifts to the Injili Baptist Church of a generator, sound system, song books, and drums. To the feeding center, they gave a T.V., DVD player, battery power system, and even landscaped with plants. Thank you to all of these churches for their hard work.

Kent McMillan visited from MANNA Worldwide and offered to add 25 children to our feeding program. We are now able to feed 107 children two meals a day plus provide for their educational and medical needs. Through this program we are giving them the gospel message and many are receiving the Lord Jesus. At present eighty percent of our mothers have been saved and baptized, becoming members of the Injili Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor Allan Owano.

Thank you for your prayers and support. I hope to update this letter about every six months. Please visit our photo gallery to see pictures of the children, the center and us.

God bless,
Bobby Bechtel
