December 2011

Dear Friends,

God is blessing the work in Uganda even in our absence. During the first weekend in December, the Kawuku Bible Baptist Church held special services on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. This new church has been struggling, and the leaders have been discouraged. But after these special meetings, we received the report that they “had an average of 50 people for each service with the majority being couples and children. The people were very happy, and eight gave their lives to Christ.” The church leaders were encouraged.  Click the photo for a closer look and use your browser's back button to return.
We have also been encouraged by the churches we have visited so far this furlough. We have been in some great missions conferences, and several of our supporting churches have agreed to raise our monthly support! We have received $12,197.07 for the orphans so far this furlough, and $10,852.50 for our Uganda-Antioch Project for the land and facilities for the new church, Bible Institute, and youth camp near Kampala. We praise God for His provision!
We have also been in some new churches, and several have promised to take us on for support. We now have 83% of the support we need to be able to return to Uganda and continue the work. Because it is proving to be difficult to find new support, we have extended our furlough to the end of May 2012. We are booked to be in many new churches in the spring, and we trust that God will provide the support that we need.
We have also received some special contributions for Christmas. It has been a hard year for us financially, so it is such a blessing to have something just for Christmas for our family! “Thanks be unto God for his unspeakable gift.” 2 Corinthians 9:15. Let us not forget to share the precious gift of His Son, Jesus Christ, with others. Merry Christmas, and may God bless you in the new year!

Yours for Uganda,

Russ & Sylvia Daniels
