Soccer Tourney
May 01, 2007
With May 01, 2007 being a federal
holiday here in Burkina the Fundamental Baptist Church of Dassasgo
decided to use this holiday to host the first of many soccer tournaments
between sister churches here in Ouagadougou. The International School of
Ouagadougou graciously allowed us the use of their soccer fields for the
day.
Four area churches and I.B.F.O. participated. The Fundamental Baptist
Church of Ouidi prevailed winning in the championship game 2 to 1 over
New Life Baptist Church of Tensouka. Winning 7 to 1 over I.B.F.O., the
Fundamental Baptist Church of Tengandogo easily took third place.
Unfortunately, the host church, the Fundamental Baptist Church of
Dassasgo finished a distant fifth. Here are a few pictures of the teams
and games. Click any picture for a close look and use your

activities as she meticulously planned, organized and executed a well
prepared tourney.
After the soccer matches we moved
over to the church in Dassasgo for a time of food and fellowship. Our
ladies spent most of the morning preparing the meals, while everyone
else was participating in the games. Kadi took the charge of organizing
and preparing the meal with the help of the ladies of the church.

Even though several of our ladies have babies to take care of, they
still participated in preparing the meal by innovative methods of
entertainment for their children; as Adjaratou allowed her son, David,
to play in a bucket.

It was a great day for all of those participating as we strove to build
stronger bonds between our independent, Baptist churches and missions.
(Do not forget to keep up-to-date with Missionaries Mike and Pam
Hillhouse as they begin their ministries here in Burkina. -

Thanks to
all who participated and especially to all of those who tirelessly
strove to plan this day's events.
