Prayer
Letter
February / March 2010
Dear Friend,
January saw
some real visible change in our new church building. After
looking at oil-stained rafters for several years, we put in a
ceiling and painted both it and the walls. This took all the
church savings for the past few years plus our Christmas
offering,
but
the improved looks are worth it.
Windows are next on the agenda, although I have to admit that I
have “enjoyed” holding services with wind-driven rain forcing us
to the drier side of the building once or twice a year. Well, at
least I have enjoyed the free flow of air no windows provides.
God blessed IBC again last week in a big way. Our church
building sits atop a small hill. Driving up that hill has always
been challenging. Even with the improvements we made on the road
a couple of years ago, it still takes three heavy concrete
blocks in the back end and careful driving for our mini-bus to
reach the top. (Our original road took two sacks of cement—220
pounds.)
On Monday morning I went out to ask the road contractors if we
could get some of the dirt left in the road after the gutters
were excavated. They agreed, and for the next hour they used
their front end loader to clear the road and put it all on our
property where we needed filling for a better road. Had we paid
for filling, we would be out hundreds of dollars. God is good!
Turning to things of eternal value, last Friday I made a return
visit to a man who seemed interested in the Gospel. He was busy
at the time, so I looked around for another likely prospect.
Seventy-five year old Emmanuel Ajai was the one. We discussed
for awhile until he understood the new birth. He then wanted to
pray to receive Christ as Saviour and Lord.
Thank you so much for your faithful prayers and support. Please
pray for Emmanuel Ajai, for the outreach of IBC, and for a young
Nigerian man to help with the work here.
Your fellow-laborers in Christ,
Ross and Ellen Ligon
