Dear Friends,

It has been a cold winter here for us this year so far (June and July). I know many of you probably cannot believe that it gets cold here but it does! Some parts of the country do see some snow. Fortunately for us in Pietermartizburg, there is no snow but cold.

With the cold weather this time of year we usually do not plan any baptisms. The water can be a little too cold – Brrrrrrrrrrrr! So as we do have some people who need to be baptized we will be planning a baptismal as soon it warms up.

One week in July both churches, Masakhane and Matshwaheni, went through the loss of 3 of our church members. Funerals are always difficult but there is joy to say that all three people were saved! So in one weekend we had 2 funerals on Saturday and one on Sunday.

Continue to pray for Lethu. He is the man I am training presently in the leadership at Matshwaheni church. He is showing a real desire to learn, lead and preach.

On August 2, a Sunday afternoon, my son-in-laws (Adrian and Byron) and I went to the center at Masakhane church to play basketball with some of the youth. What a great afternoon we had with the youth! When we finished Adrian gave his testimony. We will be planning another afternoon of basketball with them again.

Serving Him,

Mark, Sue and Kristy
