Dear Friends,
You wouldn't think it would be soooo cold in "Africa," but...it's all relative to where you are staying when you travel. This past week, I traveled to the capitol of Dar es Salaam to teach in the Bible Institute branch there. I had in tow with me, a 24 year old Bible College intern named Ben Phebus, who accompanied me on this journey. After doing some tedious office visiting in Dar for the purpose of getting some syllabii for our Christian school, and after visiting the Kenyan Embassy for future visa's etc, it was ministry time. Friday evening and Saturday all morning found me teaching the Bible School course on the Holy Spirit. Saturday afternoon, we headed west to Morogoro and then on to Turiani , a little bit in the bush. The little town of Madizini was our destination, where we stayed at a "local" guest house. This is where things got "cold!" with temperatures dipping in to the high 60's at night, (after all this is the dead of Winter here in East Africa) and with no hot water, at all, well...
This is where my line above, about it being soooo cold in Africa, comes from. We had a great service in the Kidudwe church with over 60 in attendance and one man saved at the end of the service. Simultaneously, the village church of Nyulendi was having a "Friend Day" service in another area of Morogoro. They had over 100 in attendance with 10 adults saved and 6 kids accepting Christ as well! Pretty cool.
Our prayer request this week would be for the Bible Baptist Church of Kidudwe, as they begin construction on their new church building where they have started a church in the little town of Madizini. God Grant them wisdom and unity as they build this together for His glory.

Thanks for all of your thoughts and prayers for the ministry here in Tanzania. God Bless you and give you a good week.
Vernon and Mary
