Prayer Letter - Larry & Marty Stringfield

January, 2010

Dear Prayer Partners,

God’s Healing Hand

I brought to your attention that while in Kenya back in 2008, I had become very ill. I got an infection in Kenya that took all my strength. I was so weak that I had to use a cane and a wheelchair. The doctors told me the infection was attacking the lower part of my heart and brain.

I had to see several doctors and go to Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville, FL and the Cleveland Clinic in Weston, FL. Over this period of time, I became very discouraged. A few of our supporting pastors called from time to time to encourage Marty and me. Our home pastor, John Blodgett and his lovely wife flew down to encourage us in Stuart, FL where we are staying with my mother. Thanks to your prayers and the wisdom of doctors, I feel I am getting stronger. It is our prayer that soon we will be able to travel to report to our supporting churches. Due to the recession, we need an increase of $1500 in our monthly support.

I feel like Job, for some of my missionary friends encouraged me to resign from Kenya and return to the States. I gave this idea some thought, but the same God who took us to Kenya in 1976 with only $600.00 a month can increase our support to take us back to Kenya with the support we need.

Goals

When our pastor was here, we planned our goals once we can return home to Kenya. Here are a few of ours goals.

  1.  We need to start an evening Bible Institute.
  2.  We need to continue to work with our seven churches and their pastors and wives.
  3.  We are planning on starting a new church in an area of Nairobi called Dandora.

Thank you for your faithfulness that enables us to remain in Kenya reaching the lost for Christ.

Answered Prayer

  1.  The funds came in to help our Mt. Kenya Bible Baptist church bury their pastor, Charles Karumia, who was murdered.
  2.  Eight hundred dollars came in to replace the funds that were stolen from our Nairobi church.

Prayer

  1.  Please pray that my health will continue to get better, enabling us to travel to our supporting churches and then return to Kenya.
  2.  Pray for the additional monthly support we need.

Your missionaries to the unreached people of Kenya,

Larry and Marty Stringfield
