The Dodson Family
Bob & Dee were married 6-12-76 (The I.R.S. call them Robert and Delores Dodson)
Dee’s birthday is 5-22
Bob’s birthday is 2-14

HOBBIES AND INTERESTS:

Dee is a craft person. She has a green thumb and uses it constantly in the yard. She enjoys new recipes and spends much time in the kitchen. There are no ‘prepared’ foods in Tanzania. She enjoys working with the women and children of the church. She translates stories and lessons into Swahili.
Bob likes to read books. He finds fulfillment in developing Swahili material for the Institute and teaching adults. He is a gear-head by nature with penchants for classic motorcycles and old hot rods. (Neither are in abundance in the country) He greatly enjoys spoiling his wife!

THEIR CHILDREN:
Their son, Nathan, was born 6-16-78 in Iowa City, Iowa. Nathan came to Christ while Bob & Dee were working in Little Rock, AR. He married Angie (Shockley) 12-17-99 in Saraland, Alabama. They are living there. Nathan has graduated from college now. He is working in a position of mechanical engineer for a contractor. Angie is a stay at home mom, raising our beautiful grand daughter, Claire Grace. Nathan is a deacon and couples class Sunday school teacher at the Shelton Beach Road Baptist Church.

Their daughter, Delicia, was born 3-1-89 in Little Rock, Arkansas. Delicia was home schooled by Tanzania’s most beautiful teacher from kindergarten until the eighth grade. She now attends boarding school in Kijabe, Kenya, about five hours drive away from her parents. She came to Christ while Bob & Dee were working in Dodoma, their first term.
Delicia reads young ladies novels and books. She enjoys the history of the Middle East and Egypt. She plays with her friends outside or inside the house. She has a good imagination and an avid writer.

THEIR CALL TO MISSIONS:
The Dodson’s surrendered to the mission field of Tanzania in 1990. They were approved by the Baptist Bible Fellowship that September to start deputation (raising support). They arrived on the field in 1992. After language school they worked in a team concept to help start a city church in the city of Dodoma in central Tanzania. After a furlough they moved to northern Tanzania to start a church in the city of Moshi. The church is now started. It is located in the north west quadrant of the city, called Shanty Town. Land has been secured. A building has been built. People are coming to Christ and trained in Christian living and leadership. A branch of the Bible Institute is operating at two learning levels at present. God must be praised for all of this! There are new church plants in Mji Mwema, or Msaranga and on the West side of Kilimanjaro in a village called Narumu.
