Dear
Pastor and friends,
Furlough time is winding
down. Praise the Lord! We have purchased our air fare and will be
leaving February 14, 2009.
Fourteen years ago we
were approved as missionaries with six children. Slowly over the years
they began to return to the States as they graduated high school. Our
two oldest are married; Josh and Lani were married inn 2004 and
Elisabeth and Kyle were married in 2008. Two are still in college;
Hannah is in her third year and Rebekah is in her second year. One,
Rachel, will stay and graduate high school here in the States and only
one, our youngest, Caleb, will be returning to Ouagadougou with Mary and
I.
Mary and I did not
realize the difficulty of leaving adult children behind. We have always
had a very close relationship as a family. (No matter where one is it is
really hard to see one’s children growing up and moving on in their
young adult lives.) We truly covet your prayers for our family as we are
beginning to experience “empty nest” syndrome.
Thank you so much for
standing with us in the ministries in Burkina Faso. Together we are
seeing God’s mighty working among the Burkinabé.
In Christ,
Charlie and Mary Joyce
