Prayer Letter - Larry & Marty Stringfield

April 24, 2012

Dear Churches, Family, and Friends,

I apologize for not writing for a long time, bur our computer crashed and I didn't have email addresses to use on a different machine. Now that I have mine back, I want to let everyone know that Larry came home last Saturday from rehab and is doing so much better than when he was discharged last December. I was really concerned about working with him back then, but not now. PTL!

Larry finally started walking within a week of being there with the help of an Occupational Therapist that he had had in Nov and Dec. I personally think that he knew her from before and trusted her enough to let her work with him. We praise the Lord for Mendy and her patience in working with Larry.

We got a call this morning from Home Therapy who will be out this afternoon to readmit him. Then we will start getting calls from the two therapists to start working with him here at the house. That should last about six weeks or so and then we will use Out Patient therapy at the hospital.

We went to our family doctor 10 days or so ago and the last questions Larry had for him was the possibility of us going back to Kenya eventually. Our dr told us that the last time he had seen Larry he thought there was no way we would be able to go back. Larry's speech was slurred, his thoughts not connected, etc. But this time, Larry is speaking clearly and can think things through, etc. So, the dr said Larry was a totally different person from the time before and that right now, he saw no reason why we couldn't go back. Larry's spirit was raised 100%!! So, our thoughts are to complete his therapy which will be about through July, and make plans to get back HOME!

Thank you for all the prayer you gave for Larry's behalf. We praise the Lord for the improvements Larry has made in the last month.

I will try to keep you updated every couple of weeks now that we are back online once again.
